The workshop will also cover the following topics:

Karel J Robot:
This Java version of Karel uses pure Java syntax,
so there is no need to think of this as a beginner's
only tool. It is a set of APIs similar to just about
any other Java tool that is published. A great fun
way to get students started, and also useful to reinforce
concepts throughout the first couple of years of Java
programming. We will show a few examples and point to
the free online information.

ObjectDraw:
An event and graphical way to learn Java. We will show
a simple example and point to the free online information.

JavaMethods:
Some fun and popular examples from the Litvin's
textbooks will be shown.

SavitchIn and other IO libraries:
The concept of teaching Java using the classical style
of input and output will be covered showing examples
from Walter Savitch, Lambert and Osborne, and other
popular Java textbooks.

ProgramLive:
A brief introduction will be shown to this "Dynamic,
Self-Paced Learning Environment" by David and Paul Gries.
